Love happens fast...the beginning of a beautiful "friendship"
It was March of 2003, First Baptist Church was putting on a production called Heaven's Gates & Hell's Flames, when we met by being cast opposite each other. The normally shy Nathan, approached me outside of the skit practice and we quickly became friends. The friendship grew over the next few months and despite our age difference we were perfect for each other. Best friends that fell in love!
The Proposal...
After a year of searching for 'that perfect ring' I finally found it! Because of my pickiness I had to wait extra time for my ring to be custom made, but it was oh so worth it! The day started out with a love note left on my front door, then one on my car along with a long-stem flower. I was glowing thinking about his thoughtfulness when I came into work to find yet another love note and flower on my desk! Another note on my computer told me to go to the break room fridge where I found a Starbucks Frappichino (my favorite drink!) with a little note taped on it. Later that day the biggest bouquet of flowers was delivered to me along with another love note! What a truly wonderful day Nathan made for me!! I think there couldn't possibly be more, but when I arrive home (thinking I'm alone because of no cars in the drive) I walk in to find candles leading me up the stairs. Along side the candles is a ribbon with sweet notes taped to each step and this leads me into my spare bedroom. I open the door to find an empty room with one small table in the middle covered in candles, yet another bouquet of flowers, and a white ring box. By this time I'm freaking out, wondering why he would leave the ring right out there for me to have with no proposal and for him not even to see. But then I hear something down the hall and turn to see Nathan walking towards me! He took me into the room and had me open the box....no ring! He turns me around to face him, says a ton of heartfelt beautiful things (half of which I can't remember through my crying), kneels down and pulls the vintage-style masterpiece from his pocket and says the infamous lines..."Will you marry me?"
My answer?
Of course!
